Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC (now PRA Group), a publicly traded company specializing in debt purchase and recovery, entrusted us to create a 60-second explainer video. Our motion graphics agency also delivered two promotional motion design cuts aimed at raising awareness about their innovative debt repayment service, which approaches debt collection in a more consumer-friendly manner. The goal was to educate the public on how a fair and ethical repayment system works, ensuring a seamless post-log-in experience and promoting flexible payment features.

Using flat motion design, we created this video with After Effects, focusing on a relatable character—a father, to reflect the emotional weight of financial hardship. This choice made it easier for families to identify with the storyline. The animation illustrated the internal struggles of debt, with each scene designed to depict the dark and oppressive nature of debt, ultimately transitioning to a hopeful, bright resolution. Our approach to motion design combines storytelling with visual appeal to resonate emotionally with the viewer.

To bring this narrative to life, we utilized simple yet elegant illustrations, subtle camera movements, and seamless transitions that added fluidity to the story’s progression. The motion design was crafted to emphasize the debilitating nature of debt, taking viewers on a journey from shadowed anxiety to a light, optimistic future. The overall animation not only explained PRA’s service but also connected with the audience on a deeper level.
